At Carina Eye Care, affordability without compromise to service and quality are top of mind. If you are a Medicare card holder, then a general eye exam is likely covered with little to no gap as I try to bulk-bill whenever possible. If extra testing or more specific consultations are necessary, you will be advised of any out of pocket costs before proceeding with the assessments or procedures, and will be given the option to opt-in or opt-out with an opportunity to ask any questions that you may have beforehand.
Why is there an out of pocket cost sometimes?
Each piece of specialised equipment and machinery invested into Carina Eye Care for the sole reason of delivering the comprehensive eye care to patients may cost anywhere between $20 000 to $100 000. Without charging a small gap for certain tests, the practice would not be sustainable in continuing to provide the high standard of care.
