Meet Carina

With 15 years of experience as an optometrist, and 4 years prior as a casual optical dispenser, Carina established her own solo practice in 2019.

Her passion for myopia management stems from a personal experience in 2013, when she nearly lost vision in one eye at age 24 while working in regional NSW, making her acutely aware that myopia is a serious, progressive condition, not just a refractive error to be corrected with glasses.

She's worn contact lenses herself since age 13, and remembers exactly what they meant for her confidence as a teenager, she's an occasional wearer today and values both contacts and glasses for what each does well.

Dry eye management is close to her heart, and she's the exclusive stockist of 7eye, Ziena, and EyeEco moisture-chamber eyewear west of Sydney CBD.

In 2021, during COVID lockdowns, she worked with Eyes2Learn in Newcastle on children's vision, work that shaped how she now looks for the subtle vision problems standard 20/20 checks miss.

She is experienced in prescribing the full range of myopia management options: orthokeratology, MiSight, Miyosmart, Stellest, red light therapy, multifocal contact lenses, NaturalVue, SEED EDOF, and low-dose atropine.
